I am a member of the BACP and I am currently completing a Diploma in Integrative Therapeutic Counselling at City & Islington College training in Person-Centred and Psychodynamic therapy.
I have experience working with 12 step recovery programmes and have seen them work in the lives of many recovering addicts.
I am also a Mental Health First Aider with MHFA England and I have 3 years of working in a recovery house.
Having worked in a recovery house I have gained experience working with people, suffering with various mental health issues such as, anxiety and depression. I also believe one doesn’t need to be in crisis in order to be in therapy.
My background in teaching music and using it as a therapeutic medium laid the foundation and motivation to train as a counsellor. I think that I am easy to approach, warm in my manner and am adaptable to people and their circumstances.
“The greatest gift we can give someone is our time” is my favourite quote and the power of another perspective has the power to change and offer hope to those who feel hopeless.
I work at Spiral on Monday afternoons.
