Bethany MacDonald

I am a psychotherapist registered with the UKCP and BACP, working in private practice since 2006. My integrative approach brings together existential, psychodynamic and transpersonal perspectives.

I have an MA in Psychotherapy and Counselling (2006) and an Advanced Diploma in Integrative Psychotherapy (2009) from Regent’s College School of Psychotherapy and Counselling. I also hold a diploma in Couples Therapy (2014) and a certificate in Supervision (2021) from the Re-Vision Centre for Integrative Psychosynthesis.

At Spiral I provide clinical supervision to trainee counsellors and psychotherapists. I endeavour to create a reflective and supportive space to explore the work in an honest manner that supports your development as a therapist.

In addition to my private practice I have worked in the NHS, higher education and charity sector. Prior to working as a psychotherapist, I worked in both mental and physical health sectors of the Canadian health care system as an occupational therapist. This experience of being an occupational therapist continues to influence my psychotherapy work as I believe the activities we engage in on a day-to-day basis, play a great role in our physical health, quality of life and the meaning and connection we have to ourselves and the world around us.
