Spiral is a holistic therapy centre in Islington, North London, offering counselling, psychotherapy, complementary therapy, workshops and trainings.
Spiral continues to offer low cost counselling and psychotherapy for those on low or no income, and counselling and psychotherapy at reasonable fees for those on a higher income. Most sessions are now face-to-face again.
Founded in 1995 we are committed to offering a service that makes therapy available to as wide a range of people as possible in the local community and beyond.
Spiral makes an ethical commitment to setting all fees on a reasonable scale. We offer an extensive low cost counselling and psychotherapy service for people on limited income. Unusually for a low cost project it is often possible to see a therapist for a year or more. Our team of therapists also includes experienced counsellors, psychotherapists and complementary therapists providing therapy at reasonable fees with some concessionary spaces. We also offer workshops and groups at Spiral.
The counsellors, psychotherapists and complementary therapists at Spiral come from a variety of disciplines and trainings. What we have in common is that we all work holistically, honouring the interconnected nature of mind, body, heart and spirit. As well as considering thoughts and feelings, both of which may be experienced physically, we each hold a sense of something more, whether connection with nature, with energy, with shared humanity or with a deeper or higher power within or outside the self.
The therapists are from diverse backgrounds, and work with a wide range of therapeutic issues. We value and respect each person’s uniqueness, giving careful awareness to differing cultures and choices. We believe that understanding the marginalisation of people from minority groups is an important part of the therapeutic and holistic frame.
Spiral has high standards of professionalism. The therapists all hold insurance and adhere to the code of practice of their professional organisations. Many have been qualified for between 5 and 20 years, others have qualified more recently and some are in training on recognised diploma courses. What all share is depth of insight, self-awareness and sensitivity.
If there is no therapist at Spiral who can offer you the support you need then we will do our best to suggest alternatives.
Another aspect of our work is educational. We offer a supportive and challenging learning environment for associate and qualified therapists. This includes placements, supervision, ongoing professional development, short and long term trainings.
